Welcome to our CTMH Gimme Some Sugar blog hop if you arrived here from Doreen's blog you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance I hope you see something you like, to continue the hop click on the link at the end of this post to see some more wonderful ideas.

The Gimme Some Sugar collection is so lovely, with soft colours and feelings of nostalgia. The beautiful papers and compliments and the super cute baking icon stamps will look great with just about any project. I have created two layouts and a card to share with you.

Food is such a big part of our lives and if you are anything like me you take photos of  those special meals. Also one of the memorable things that I love doing with my grand nieces and nephews when they come to visit is cooking and baking. These times shared together are really special.

This layout showcases some of those special times. Food is essential to life but it also an important part of our social gatherings, there are comfort foods that make us feel better when we are stressed or worried and certain dishes remind us of special friends or relatives but meals shared with others is the best. I love this wood grain paper that I used as the background, and then only needed some of the zip strips for a bit of extra colour. The images were stamped with black ink and coloured with the Shin Han markers. I used one of the journal boxes for my title background and added the baked with love stamped banner and finally a second journal box to write my story.

The flower PML card is so pretty I wanted to feature it prominently on a layout.  These are the only two photos I have of this outing, so they allowed me to showcase some of the lovely papers from this collection and by fussy cutting the flowers out from the PML card it fitted beautifully on this layout.

I came across a video of how to make a pinwheel card months ago and finally got around to making one. It looks like it may be difficult to make but it is really easy you can see a video here that shows you how to make this card. The lady in the video uses a scoring board with a diagonal plate but the CTMH score board works perfectly but unfortunately it is now retired.

As Mother's Day is next month I thought I would make a Mother's Day card. You can add a specialty teabag, a gift card or even a small flat chocolate. The belly band is not needed to keep the card closed but it adds a nice decorative finish to the card.

Here are the instructions to make the card but if you have any difficulties remember to check out the video. You need a piece of paper that is 8"x8" you will need to score at 3" on all four sides but you score on the diagonal. Then fold and burnish the score lines, you will notice 4 small triangles on each side where the score lines intersect.

Cut out these triangles, you will now need the score board again to score along the straight edges at 1" from the edge as shown in the photo. Fold these edges back, then fold each side in a clockwise motion to close the card. You will need to tuck the last side into the first side.  Add a square of cardstock to the inside where you can stamp a greeting and decoration as desired. The belly band is 3/4" wide and about 91/2"  long, join together at the front of the card and add the decoration to cover the joined sections.

You can make a smaller version with a 6"x6" piece of paper, you will be able to make four from a single sheet of 12"x12" paper. Your first score will be at 2 5/8" on all four sides and then 3/4" for the second score on the straight edges.
