"Taste of Summer"

I know we are experiencing some cold weather at the moment in Perth but I am currently on holidays in the Bahamas, so I thought it was apt to share some lovely summery ideas using the Taste of Summer papers and stamps. These samples are from the  CTMH facebook site  they are great ideas and quite easy to duplicate. Don't you just love the strawberry stamp?

I am really enjoying my holiday, catching up with family and friends. I met a cousin's daughter that I haven't seen for about 36 years she was only about 4 years old when I last saw her. She lives in Georgia USA and has come to the Bahamas to holiday with us. We both share a love of family tree research and have spent a lot of time chatting about shared ancestors.

Doesn't this look like a slice of paradise? These shots are of Hope Town Abaco in the Bahamas, it appears to be an idyllic spot with the red and white striped lighthouse overlooking the harbour.

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend in Perth whether you are crafting or catching up friends.

National Scrapbook Month Project

Here is a lovely project using the great NSM Taste of Summer papers, I love these papers. They are so bright and cheery.

This is a celebratory project made with the Taste of Summer paper packet and stamp set: a refreshing mini album. Mini albums are great for compiling your memories from specific events or time periods in a beautiful standalone book, which friends and family can then look through as it sits on your coffee table to get a taste of what you experienced.

Instructions for this great project can be found on the CTMH blog here
Happy crafting.

Inspiration from Pinterest

I am away on holidays and a few weeks ago I spent a weekend making cards so I would have extras to share with you while I am away. Unfortunately after taking the photos of the cards I forgot to load them onto my laptop, so I thought I would share some cards that I have saved on my Pinterest website that I want to use as inspiration for future cards. I always find lots of ideas on Pinterest.

I have this stamp set and loved these ideas when I saw them and will be making  some cards similar to these soon. I really like how the maker of these cards also  used the Shin Han markers to colour the images.

I really like the simplicity of this card and it would be very  easy to duplicate. The black, white and red combination gives it a real elegant look.

I have made a few of the step card variations and when I saw this one I knew I would like to make one like it for a my niece's husband for his birthday. He is a great "handyman"

Enjoy your week and have a great time crafting.

CTMH May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to this month's Blog Hop. If you arrived here from Tracey Ray you are in the right place, if you happened upon this hop by accident no worries just continue on by following the link at the end of the post.

This month's stamp is  Just Sayin' S1505, it has 14 stamps with different shapes and and statements and you will find it can be used for a variety of layouts or if you are a card maker the possibilities are endless. You can have this stamp for just $5.00 with a $75.00 order during May, but at any other time it will cost you $27.00.

I've had lots of fun with this stamp set so far. I am showing four cards which were quite simple and easy to make. This first card uses the the square shape and the "This is Cool stamp. I used the retired Hopscotch paper pack and coordinating inks. The stamped squares were trimmed to 1" then double matted with Daisy White card stock and card stock to match the ink. I embossed the backing card stock with the Damask Embossing Folder Z1927 and for a finishing touch added Flaxen Extra Thick Twine Z3036 and 3 small pearls from my stash.

For this second card I used the banner stamp and created a pinwheel. A very simple card but I like how it turned out.

I think this card is my favourite, I used the triangle stamp to create the kites. I stamped the triangle twice and trimmed one to make the top of the kite, Bakers Twine was used to make the kite tails. The Enjoy the Moment stamp, a few clouds and some ribbon was all that was needed to complete the card.

My niece and her husband have just bought a new home and will be moving in soon. So I thought I would make a card congratulating them on their new home. Once again I used the square and triangle stamps. I trimmed them so they would look like little houses and added the little hearts.

I hope you are enjoying this hop and getting lots of ideas, please  continue on to Patricia Manhire's blog to see what she has created. We do appreciate your comments and they encourage us to be more creative with the stamp sets.
