Oh my this paper collection and stamp sets are wonderful and so much fun to work with. I love the bright colours and the positive reinforcement sentiments of the stamp are really great.  

 

                          

I am so privileged to be part of a big family and that we enjoy spending time together. Watching the kids grow up and mature I get a glimpse of what sort of adults they will be. They each have their own distinct personalities, good and bad characteristics and are real stars to me. I have high hopes for all of them, I know they are all super in my eyes. So I decided to create a layout to show them that I think they are all super kids.

   

To celebrate a super hero's birthday we need a super hero's card and this is what I have made. I wanted to show Super Girl flying so this is what I came up with. You can save 25% on all available Thin Cuts, and 30% on select bundles, check it out on my website https://doristaylor.closetomyheart.com.au Even though I find fussy cutting quite relaxing using the thin cuts for certain images is so much easier. I cut the super girl image twice because when you colour the image, it sometimes bleeds through and I didn't want that to be seen. This pop up card is really easy to make, the white insert is 7.5" x 4.75", once folded in half make a mark 2.5" from center fold on both sides and also 2.5" down from top of center fold. Scrapbooking Weekend

Last weekend was a long public holiday weekend and I caught up with some of my scrapping buddies and managed to get a few layouts completed. I visited the Bahamas with my mum and brother in 2015 it was a lovely visit we got to meet the newest member of the family. My niece had a gorgeous baby girl a few weeks before we arrived and it was wonderful seeing her for the first time. She had a full head of dark hair and was so beautiful. She is my mum's 18th great grandchild.

I thought it was time I started scrapping the photos of that holiday and here are a few layouts. Unfortunately the Bahamas is a very long way from Perth Western Australia and it takes anything up to 38 hours flying time. My dream is one day to fly business class and be able to actually lie down to sleep. This is the first page of this holiday album.

Our first stop in the Bahamas was the capital Nassau where I grew up and lived before we moved to Australia. The Bahamas consists of about 20 islands large enough to be inhabited, but records show there are about 700 islands all told. We stayed on Paradise Island which is just across the harbour from Nassau. I had heard about the Cloisters when we were living there but I had never been to see it.  The Cloisters are the beautiful remains of a 14th Century French Augustinian monastery that was located in Montrejau, France.

From Nassau we then went to Marsh Harbour Abaco, one of what the Bahamians call the Family Islands. It is here that my two nieces live and where we spent the most time. There are a number of settlements and small islands that are called cays (pronounced key) that are worth visiting. These areas are all very modernized but there are still a few old wooden buildings that hark back to the past.

March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

March's stamp "Birthday Times" is perfect for  birthday cards and layouts, but can also be used used for other celebrations and invitations.

I think Operation Smile is such a great charity and so worthy of support. The little animals and punny sayings are so cute.

All children love their birthday, they anticipate it month's in advance and reaching double figures is a real milestone. Of course they can't wait to receive and open their presents. Lucy turned 10 this year and seeing her mature is wonderful. In a recent school project she described herself as an AWESOME friend I love that she has such good self esteem, lots of us struggle with this. This is quite a simple layout and came together really quickly. The little flower gems from the Make Waves collection are adorable.
