When I first saw the Fresh Air collection I immediately thought of outdoorsy photos and projects, but that's not necessarily the case. At this time I don't have any outdoor photos that suit these papers, but the soft colours of linen, glacier and toffee really lends itself to other projects.
I love this combination of colours, the glacier and toffee with the lovely leaf patterned paper. I free hand cut the hearts and then added the pen stitching and lines to further define the shape. I mounted the photo with craft cardstock and also used it for the first layer of circles. I do really cherish this photo of my dad because this is how I always want to remember him.
My niece Margo and her daughter Mia live overseas and in 2016 they came for a visit and we took them to Caversham Wildlife Park. They had a great time feeding the kangaroos and seeing the other Australian native wildlife. I recently saw these books and had to get them and send them to Mia, she loves to look at books and Margo reads to her often.
I wanted to make a special card to send with the books and this is what I came up with. It is called a Split Panel card. There are lots of videos on You Tube with instructions to make this card.
I have used this great koala stamp from the "Go Wild International" stamp set C1695. This stamp is in the Annual Inspiration catalogue and will only be available until July. I used pigment ink and then clear embossed the image, this was then matted it on the same colour cardstock as the card base. Adhere the printed paper to the cardstock on the front of the card and decorate as desired. Place the bottom bit for the card along the bottom edge so it will be straight then add the piece with the stamped image to hold the two pieces together. Be sure you only add adhesive to the top and bottom edges. I added a piece of white daisy cardstock inside the card so you can stamp your sentiment. Make sure you marked with pencil between the top and bottom pieces of the card so you know exactly where to place your stamped sentiment. Decorate as desired.
I love making pretty cards and this card definitely falls into that category. Pretty papers, flowers and bling are always a great combination for me.
I used one of the cards from the Value Pack, I then cut a piece of glacier cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" and added the printed paper on top, these pieces are 1 1/4" x 5 2/8". I spaced them evenly across the glacier cardstock For the horizontal strip I cut another piece of glacier cardstock 2" x 3 7/8" and added a piece of the woven look paper on top. I stamped the flowers directly onto the beautiful glacier leaf paper and then fussy cut them out. I added the lovely White Pearls Z3370 to the centers of the flowers. These pearls are really economical, you get 90 adhesive backed pearls of three different sizes for just $6.50. The butterfly is made with two different sized punched butterflies, to add a little bling I adhered a Bitty Sparkle to the center of the butterfly wings. These Bitty Sparkles Z1263 are also a great buy they are only $4.50 for 100 sparkly gems. Finally I added the sentiment and the white burlap ribbon which I separated into individual strands.
You can find all the products to make these projects on my website https://doristaylor.closetomyheart.com.au
