Borders Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the CTMH Australasian Borders Blog Hop, if you arrived here from Lynda at the Scrapbooking Photographer you are in the right place. If you arrived by chance, click on the link at the end of this post to continue the hop.

Today we will be bringing you ideas using borders, whether they be stamped borders using the February stamp of the month, other border stamp or borders made from other CTMH products. For my projects I have used two of the images from February stamp of the month S2302 and one of the Fancy Borders Thin Cuts Z3682.

This first project uses the butterfly stamped border and I think it is so pretty and versatile. I stamped the butterflies with black ink then added the pink ink using the blending brushes Z4572 which are so fabulous to use. I have also used paper from the Flower Shoppe X8803S collection and butterfly stamps from my stash. The butterfly stamps that I have used are now retired but Close To My Heart have so many beautiful butterfly stamps I am sure you can find something similar in your stash of stamps.

I love how this layout turned out, I have used this decorative border thin cut which looks so pretty on this page. The thin cut is 6" long and I cut it twice to fit the 12" page . The beauty of this thin cut is that it is a continuous cut when you cut it twice rather than two individual borders. I have used random flower stamps from my stash and I am loving the new thinner card die cuts. I have added the black butterfly, a small heart and a few random stickers from the Flower Shoppe pack.

Here is a better look at the embellishments, I really like how the different elements of the stamped flowers, the stickers and the die cuts compliment each other giving different textures and dimension. I also added some splatters using the black ink, just a little not too much.

It's great having "just because" cards in your in your collection which can be used for different occasions. I am not sure what occasion I will use this card for but it's there when I need it. After stamping the hearts border in Candy Apple ink I fussy cut it out, our Non Stick Micro Tip Scissors Z81836 makes this so easy. The added sentiment and the thin cut hearts in the envelope are the perfect decoration to finish off this card.

Thanks for stopping by, now hop along to Danielle at Scrappy Chicks to see what great project she has to share.
