Boy's Card

I find it easy to make pretty feminine cards but masculine cards are another thing. Boys cards are a bit easier, the great stamps that Close To My Heart offer makes it easier still. The new CTMH catalogue and ideas book will be released August 1st. I have had a look at the new catalogue and there are some terrific new products being released, I really like them all. There is something for for everyone in the new catalogue, great new stamps, jewelry and home decor items.

This is a fun card that I created that would be suitable for any little boy. 

Spending Time With Friends

I enjoy catching up with my two good friends Karen and Colleen, we spent today chatting and crafting. We met at Karen's home and she had her nearly 3 year old granddaughter visiting today. What a little chatterbox she is, she told me about her upcoming princess birthday party and modeled her Cinderella dress that Nanny  made for her. A pair of white gloves completed the outfit.

Everyday Layouts

This is a great video showcasing the CTMH Artbooking cricut cartridges to make everyday layouts. There are three different cartridges in the collection. The Artbooking cartridge will make striking layouts in 15 different themes, or mini albums in 10 themes. The Artiste cartridge is filled with interactive elements you will love, 3D decorations and favours. The Art Philosophy cartridge has all the basic fundamental shapes you can use on almost every project. Wild Weather

The rain started last night and continued intermittently throughout today. Thankfully in my suburb all we experienced was heavy rain and wind, but a tornado swept through two other suburbs leaving much destruction in it's wake. Tornadoes are fairly rare in metropolitan Perth. The rain is always a welcome sight.

Today's card was a fun easy card to make, it stands upright but it can be folded flat to allow you to post it.

 

Base and Bling

There are faux antique gold and faux antique silver chains and charms and a large variety of pictures to put in the pendants. These are some that I have created.

 

 

Mondays are Happy Days

I don't work on Mondays so it's always a day to relax if I have had a busy weekend. Last weekend wasn't particularly busy but my niece's 2 kids spent the weekend with me. Sunday while they were playing they came across these "Graucho"  glasses in my toy box, they both thought they looked so funny in the glasses. They look so serious but they actually had a smile behind the moustache. I always enjoy having Lucy and Jett spend time with me.

 As it's Monday here is my card from the Mojo Monday sketch. This card came together very quickly. The card base uses the kraft cardstock and the decorative papers are from the Free To Be Me paper pack. The flower is cut from the Artiste Cricut cartridge.

Cute Boxes

These boxes are so easy to make, a few score lines and one strip of adhesive tape and you have a box to decorate as you like. Using Close To My Heart papers, stamps and a little ribbon and you have a beautiful box to put a gift or a treat in.

Mojo Monday

I came across the Mojo Monday website while I was surfing the internet for some inspiration. They post a card sketch every Monday and you are invited to create a card using the sketch. Here is my card and the sketch from Monday June 23rd. Even though it is Monday here in Australia it's not in the US so they haven't yet posted the sketch for Monday June 30th. My Mum

I visit my mum every Saturday afternoon, my brother Don also comes around at the same time. We spend a few hours together chatting, the topics are many and varied. In the photo below is my mother, my brother Don and my sister Sharon who has passed away. Yesterday my mum was telling us how difficult it was for her and my dad when we were kids. This photo was taken about 1951, my sister Sharon was born in October 1950. How cute is Don standing there with his hands in his pockets. Both my parents are very talented, and I am sure this made life a little easier for them. Mum loves to sew and sewed a lot of our clothes when we were growing up. My mum was telling us about the clothes she made for us when we were kids. A lot of the dresses that my sisters and I wore and the shirts that my brothers wore were made from the fabric that my mother got for free from the grocer. Bags that held bulk poultry feed were made of fabric that was colourful and quite suitable for making clothes, the grocers would give away these bags  to any of the ladies that wanted them once all the feed was sold. Now days my mother spend her spare time sewing quilts, she finds more intricate sewing too difficult with her failing vision. She has sewn a quilt for all of her great grandchildren, fifteen in total!  My dad was an excellent handyman and could pretty much fix anything around the house. He also enjoyed photography and as a young man, developed all of his photos himself, he took this photo. It is amazing how things have changed in the past 60 odd years.  Just thinking of the advances in photography alone is amazing. Who would have ever thought in 1951 there would come a day when you could take photos without needing film.
