Oh What Fun Blog Hop

Welcome to our Oh What Fun blog hop, if you arrived here from Shaunna's Passionate About Pages  you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance it's nice to see you, to continue the hop click on the link at the end of this post.

I must admit I love the traditional colours of red and green for Christmas and can't quite get my head around to using pinks and blues. The Oh What Fun collection has these beautiful  pinks, blues and greens which I can see using for lots of projects. I do love the colours in this collection but just not for Christmas. The compliments pack has some really cute elements.

The beautiful pinks and blues did work really well with these photos of a scrapbooking event. My niece Laura Beacham is also a CTMH consultant and she made this fantastic flower frame for a photo opportunity at the workshop. I decide to replicate the look of the frame as decoration for my layout. I must give credit to Jennifer Smith createbyjennifer.blogspot.ca  I used one of her layouts as inspiration.

I have been wanting to have a go at using the Textured Paste since it was released and now was as good a time as any, so I created this mixed media canvas. I used the small pink dot paper as the background and then added smaller pieces of the large pink dot paper. I sponged white ink over the canvas and then stamped the butterflies in black Momento ink.

Now was the time to try the Textured Paste, using a script stencil I added the Textured Paste with one of the Palette Knives to a few spots on the canvas. Once the Textures Paste had dried I added some pink spray ink that I have in my stash. The butterfly was stamped on the same paper that I used for the title then fussy cut it. I cut another butterfly in the glacier cardstock and added the stamped butterfly on top with 3d foam. I used four different patterned papers to make the roses. The roses, pearls and burlap twine completes this project. If you haven't tried the Textured Paste yet I encourage you to try it, it was a lot of fun.

I couldn't be bothered get my cricut out so I hand cut the rolled roses. It really is very easy to make these. Cut a circle out of your papers then cut the circle into a spiral.

Roll it up and using glue dots adhere it to small circle that is at the end of the spiral.
To finish off the roses I inked the edges with Raspberry ink and added a pink pearl.

December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the December stamp of the month blog hop, if you arrived here from Doreen's blog you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance you are very welcome and to continue the hop click on the link at the end of this post to continue the hop.

The stamp of the month is Candy Cane Alphabet, what a cute font it is. This stamp set contains not just the alphabet but also the numerals 1 to 10 and also other symbols. of course if you use a red ink the resulting image will be like a candy cane but if you use other colour inks the

This layout uses the letters for a title, I have used candy apple and outdoor denim inks. They suited the colours of my photos. I have stamped the letters and then fussy cut them.  I have also used the @ symbol for the centers of my flowers. I have also used one of the Thin Cut Decorative Border dies for the book page.

I have made a card and used another of the symbol stamps, this time as the centers of the pinwheels. I have coloured the white gems with Shin Han markers.

'Tis The Season Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our blog hop, if you arrived here from Doreen's blog you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance to continue the hop click on the link at the end of this post.

The 'Tis The Season collection has the traditional red and green colours of Christmas which I love. The compliments pack has some wonderful embellishments which will really enhance your projects.

I love spending Christmas morning with my sister and her family. I arrive early so I can see the kids opening their presents, it's wonderful to see the delight on their faces when they realize they received what they wished for. After opening the presents we share a big breakfast together.

In the compliments pack there are these lovely white rosettes, I knew I would never use them for  scrapbooking but thought they would be great for a 3D project. Pinterest is a great source of inspiration and I came across an idea to make ornaments with them. I have used the gold glitter and cranberry cardstock and decorated them with various stamps. A little bling for added sparkle and some gold cord to hand the ornaments and the project is completed.

Never think that you can only use the papers in the kits for the theme they are designed for. The pale black paper with the snowflakes created a bit of a challenge for me, I thought it would look lovely with the bashful cardstock. So I created this card and used the snowflake paper for the background. I used Bashful ink for the flowers, Canary for the centers of the flowers and  Fern for the leaves.

Grateful Heart Blog Hop

Welcome to our Grateful Heart blog hop, if you arrived here from Lara Moss' Scrappy Kea blog you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance have a look around and hopefully you will see something you like. To continue the hop click on the link at the end of this post.

The Grateful Heart collection features the most beautiful autumn colours and the decorative elements are lovely. This workshop kit will have you creating stunning projects. I forgot to order this collection  but was able to get my hands on a paper pack and the use of the Grateful Heart Cardmaking stamp to make my projects.

For this card I stamped the butterfly in black ink then coloured it with the Shin Han markers, I also used two of the other images from the set and the hello friend sentiment. A pop of colour from the papers, a ribbon and some bling finishes off the card.

I used strips of papers and also fussy cut a bunch of flowers from the paper to created this card.  The Thank You sentiment was stamped on one of the stitched oval thin cuts. The flowers and the sentiment were adhered with the 3D Foam Tape, the red burlap ribbon looks great with these papers.

My layout came together really quickly and easily, one of the fabulous things about Close To My Heart products is the colours are compatible with other collections. I had to use embellishment from various older compliment packs to decorate this page. I am very grateful for my wonderful brother who was able to make a functioning swing set from this pile of old bits that were given to me. I only had to buy a few bolts, the swing and a piece of wood for bracing and "voila" we had a swing set! Lucy does not mind that it is a second hand swing, she just loves playing on it.

Butterflies

Butterflies are just one of the many magnificent creatures in our world, because of their transformation from caterpillar to butterfly they are a symbol of new birth. Around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope, and life. I especially like the joy they bring me when I see them fluttering around. I love these two butterfly embossing folders, they allow me to make beautiful cards with just a few supplies.

Thanks for stopping by have a great weekend and make sure you get a little time for yourself. I am fortunate to be spending time this weekend with other crafters scrapbooking and card making.

Hello Pumpkin Blog Hop

Welcome to the "Hello Pumpkin" blog hop, if you arrived here from Doreen's  blog you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance you can continue the hop by clicking on the link at the end of this post.

The Hello Pumpkin paper pack is mostly designed for celebrating Halloween but as always the papers are so lovely and can be used for other different projects.  The dominant black and orange colours can be quite beautiful when paired together. Lagoon can also be used with these colours as you can see it was featured in the PML cards.

I have made three different cards, this first one uses the Bunches of Love stamp D1815 but I only used the outline stamp with black ink then coloured the image with the Shin Han markers to match the papers. I stamped the image directly onto the black dot paper, then mounted it on black carstock and then the orange gingham paper. A little bling and ribbon never goes astray.

I don't celebrate Halloween but still wanted to show that you can use this collection with a Halloween theme but it still not be Halloween. I found a pattern for a coffin shape on the net to make this card. You can find the pattern here   once I printed the shape on regular copy paper I then cut it out with the left side on the fold of black cardstock. The skeleton, the "no bones about it" and "it's your birthday"sentiment are from old stamp sets which are now discontinued, but I am sure you can find something similar.  After stamping the skeleton and fussy cutting it I place on the star paper but it seemed to blend in the with the white background of the paper. So I adhered it to black cardstock and again fussy cut around it which then grounded the image. I am quite happy with how this one turned out, I have the perfect young man to send this to as his birthday is coming up soon. Who wouldn't want to receive a birthday card with a dancing skeleton on it? The finished card is 5 1/2" x 3 1/4" and fits easily in our standard envelopes.

This third card is a simple and easy one, the butterfly was cut sing the Artistry Cricut cartridge, you can find the image on page 42. Once I adhered the butterfly to a different orange pattern paper I cut around it with my scissors. The black and white stripe paper and the same orange pattern paper was also used. Some bitty sparkles, black gems and a sentiment and the card is finished.

October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop "Thanks and Giving"

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop, if you arrived here from Doreen's blog you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance it's always nice to see you, you can continue the hop by clicking on the link at the end of this post.

In America they celebrate Thanksgiving Day in November and this stamp set is perfect for this but that doesn't mean we are limited in how we can use these great images. There are 15 brilliant images that can be used for lots of different projects.

We take photos so we can remember the special times that we spend with family and friends and that is why I scrapbook my photos. This layout is of a short holiday with my sister and two of her grandkids. I used one of the PML cards and stamped the "Remember This" image then coloured it with the red Shin Han marker.

I think this card would be great as a congratulations of your new home. I have used four of the images when making this card, a little colouring, a couple of butterfly punches and a few gems and the card is finished.

I used soft colours and lovely pearls for this pretty girlie card with the Thanks sentiment. I used one of the Splotches stamps for the background then added the butterfly and flowers.

Boutique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Boutique Blog Hop, if you arrived here from Shaunna's blog you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance it's always nice to see you, you can continue the hop by clicking on the link at the end of this post.

The Boutique collection is so pretty but it is not limited to feminine creations. There are beautiful girlie colours like pink and yellow and a wonderful rose pattern paper that is to die for, but there are other great coloured and patterned papers. The compliments pack has a wonderful collection of embellishments that will look so great on your projects.

I wanted to show that this collection could be used for a masculine project even though the majority of the papers are predominately feminine. I used the dark grey for the background paper then white and the lovely peacock words paper. The basic design of this card could be replicated with any papers and stamp sets. I used a seashells stamp set, a stitched circle and a plain circle thin cuts and some Glacier twine and gems. I designed the card for a male but it can easily be given to a woman. I always have heaps of feminine cards but not that many male cards.

The multi coloured  paper with the yellow paper worked well with the photos of our Easter Egg Hunt from a few years ago. The Easter Egg Hunt and flower border stamps are from the great 12 months stamp collection from last year. I received them as a Christmas gift from my lovely niece. It's amazing to see how much the kids grow each year, look at those lovely little faces. I had to add a third page because there are so many kids.

I love flowers, real ones, fake ones and stamped ones, this bright happy card was a delight to create. It's funny how you have a colour combination in your mind before you start a project and then it just doesn't look right. This is the third combination of colours I tried for the flowers before deciding on this one. I used grey cardstock for the background, then the light grey paper and finally the yellow and peach papers for added colour. I sponged the edges of the light grey paper for contrast.

Thanks for stopping by I hope you will be inspired with all the great projects you see on this hop. To continue the hop click here to got Vandra's blog she will have something great to share. Please take a moment and leave a comment, we all appreciate them.

September Stamp of the Month "Just Treats"

Welcome to our September Stamp of the Month blog hop, if you arrived here from Vandra's blog  you are in the right place if you arrived here by chance click on the link at the end of this post to go to the next blog.

This stamp set has some great sentiments for upcoming holidays, but of course they can be tweaked to be used for other things. The Americans celebrate Thanksgiving Day and Halloween in a big way  but we in Australia don't but that doesn't mean we can't find another use for these lovely sentiments.

Friends bring such joy to our lives and having the opportunity to record these friendships in photos and journalling are very important to me. I have known these two lovely ladies for some years now and really enjoy spending time with them  When we get together we solve the world's problems and have solutions for all that ails mankind. We try to get together at least a couple times a year for a weekend of scrapbooking, eating goodies and catching up. It was quite funny that we each wore a black and white shirt this day.

This sentiment was perfect for this layout, the flower stamp is a sweet compliment to the papers that I used. I stamped off before stamping the two flowers that are lighter in colour, I tried to replicate the look of the flowers in the paper.

Father's day is this Sunday so I thought I would make a little box to hold some treats. I used what is supposed to be a Halloween stamp but by adding the "for someone special" it can work for Father's Day or any other event. This is a standard 4"x4" lidded box, you can find instructions on Youtube or Pinterest. The box will hold 8 Ferrero Roche chocolates or many other different small treats. The red Burlap ribbon adds just a little something special to the lid.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you've seen something you like. If you have please take a moment and leave a comment they are always appreciated. To continue the hop click here to go to Lauren Moore's blog, she will have something wonderful to share.
