Beautiful Friendship Blog Hop

Welcome to our Beautiful Friendship blog hop, if you arrived here from Vandra's blog you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance I hope you see something you like and to continue the hop click on the link at the end of this post.

Oh my I love this collection, the papers, compliments and the stamp set is truly beautiful. Working with such a lovely collection is a great pleasure. All of the papers are stunning and the compliments pack is so pretty. The Workshop Your Way kit is great value for your money, it is only $45.00 and contains so many different products.

This stamp and Thin Cut set is so versatile, I can see me using it for so many different projects, cards layouts and 3D projects.

In March I attended the CTMH convention in Melbourne and while there I went to the Melbourne Flower Show. It was wonderful and I took so many photos of the beautiful floral arrangements. I want to thank for the inspiration for this layout, I found one of her layouts on Pinterest. I wanted the photos to be the main focus of the layout and the papers just to compliment the photos. I added the flourishes to the edges and then the two die cut words, a really simple layout. As I said I wanted the photos to be the focus so I had them printed with 2 on a 4"x6 photo size. I am sure all machines have this option in the collage section. By printing them this size I got more on my page but didn't loose any of the subject of the picture.

I really enjoy making boxes and I found the instructions to make this box a few years ago but never got around to making it. It looks like a normal box but it opens in a different way, the lid and the box is all in one. One of the things I really love about CTMH products are how the different compliments works so well together. This Blue Burlap Ribbon matches the Beautiful Friendship papers beautifully. You need the Belly Band to hold the box together, but it also adds a lovely decorative touch to the box. You can download the instructions to make this box here

My last project uses the teapot stamp set. It is a side step card and I thought this style of card was what was needed to showcase this lovely stamp set. You can use our cards from the Value Pack to make this type of card but I wanted to use the Sapphire Cardstock for my base. After stamping the teapot I felt it needed something else so I decided to emboss it using the Dot Embossing Folder Z1924, it gave it a nice textured look. This card will fit in a standard envelope, and it will look really nice when left out on display.

You can easily find the instructions to make this card on Pinterest or watch a video on You Tube.

Postcard Perfect Blog Hop

Welcome to the Postcard Perfect blog hop, this collection is a special release for National Scrapbook Month. If you arrived here from Wendy's blog   you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance I hope you see something you like, to continue the hop click on the link at the end of this post.

This collection is lovely perfect for holiday photos, especially those from a beach holiday. The stamp set is gorgeous.

I have been working on my holiday to the Bahamas in 2015 and this collection worked beautifully with these photos.

I came across a video on You Tube for this great pop up card that only uses one piece of cardstock and it is so easy to make. I have used the lovely flowers from the stamp set and the Happy Birthday thin cut to decorate the card. I added a few bitty sparkles to the center of the flowers, which I coloured with the Shin Han markers.

You use a piece of cardstock that is 5.5" x 4.25" make a pencil mark along the 4.25" side at 2.75"  from one edge to the other. Then make marks with a pencil at 1.25" to the center pencil line, on both edges of one side of the 5.5" edge. Then make a mark at 2.75" (the middle point) on the other side. Score along the line between the 2 marks from the edge. Cut along the marks on both edges to the center point, as shown in the photo below.  Add a strip of cardstock .75" x 4" to the front of the card to stabilize it and add the extra decorations.  You need to watch the video here that explains how to fold the card to make the pop up.

May Stamp of the Month "Classic Summer Bash"

Welcome to the May stamp of the Month Blog Hop, if you arrived here from Doreen's blog you are in the right place. If you arrived here by chance nice to see you and I hope you find some inspiration.

The Classic Summer Bash stamp set has some great images and sentiments and will be terrific for summer layouts, party invitations and lots more.

This is the first time I have taken photos specifically to suit the stamp of the month. Jet and Atley spent a few days with me in the recent school holidays and I thought what a great opportunity to make home made lemonade. Atley was a trooper and helped me squeeze the lemons. We had the lemonade with our lunch. I stamped the Mason jars on vellum with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. After fussing cut them I then coloured the jars with lagoon ink and a sponge.

Here are a couple of close ups of the title and the mason jars. I stamped and cut the lemon and leaves image twice once in yellow ink and then again with green ink. I colored the lemon with the yellow Shinn Han marker, I used the 3D foam tape to raise the lemon image.

Receiving a handmade card is so special, and I love sending them to friends and family. I planned this card as a masculine card but it could easily be given to female family or friends.
